« on: 21 September 2008, 19:27:03 »

My 98 omega has been doing some funny things with regards to the Info display, it constantly tells me my brake light has failed even though it work perfectly, and now also tells me tail light and head light fail, again they work fine !!

Tail light - remember there are 4 bulbs for tail lights.

Also, check you haven't got a stop/tail bulb in wrong way round, as that upsets the check control...

BTW, a 1998 will have a MID, 1999 cars may have a CCRT700 MID (half height), GIDs didn't appear until 2000

So then why does my 99 MV6 have a GID then??

Really? What Radio?

I suspect it actually has a CCRT700 MID.  No prefacelift Omega was ever factory fitted with a GID ;)

I've no idea myself, but I do remember when it was questioned 'yonks' back that the 1/2 screen display was called a GID   :-/

Half height screens on prefacelifts are either the basic TID, or the CCRT700 MID (note, it is a MID, just with extra phone based portion of display).

The GID, as fitted to the facelifts with non colour satnavs is a different beast... ...though annoyingly loses the Stopwatch function of the MIDs - how am I supposed to time my 0-60s now...
