DASH DISPLAY MEMORY
« on: 23 October 2008, 21:58:11 »

Just fitted a genuine dash display unit.

Switched on the radio, (CAR400 model), and all presets remain okay, time and temp also okay.

With radio switched off, 'Program' is displayed instead of the date.
Followed the handbook instructions, and input the date. After a few seconds, the date disappears and 'Program' reappears.

What have or haven't I done fellas? Any pointers greatly appreciated.

Thanks Mark,
What is the 'varient coding'?
Is this the 4-digit radio code?

Cheers ......

No, new displays come in delivery mode (no varient code set).

You then use Tech2 to enter a varient code which relates to the car info i.e. HID lights, wheel size etc.

Thanks Mark,
Is there any way around this?
I don't know of anyone with Tech2 around here, except the 'stealers'

Otherwise, I'll have to wait until Newent next year ..... !

If its the grey type connector, I can do no probs. If its the yellow/black connectors, I still need to finish my board, as currently it will do it, but leave DTCs in unit.

Is it a MID or a TID?

Thanks J,

Marks DTM has very kindly offered to do it for me, so I'm about to remove the unit and send it to him. Thanks.

However, what is meant by 'MID' and 'TID'?

TIDs (certainly later ones) have simple coding for country.  Not sure about earlier ones, suspect the same.
