CID I have.....will take a look, then, but - tbh - not gonna spend much on this, as it is a toy more than anything (we use our other car for any real distance)

Just look for Navteq discs ? Anything specific ?

Booo ! My disc is 2001 and no sign of a TMC logo either - is getting a more up-to-date disc (eBay ??) worthwhile ?

I'd update, the maps are far more up to date and you get intersection zoom! [1] with the later disks though I can't remember which one adds this as I'm on my fourth disk now.

[1] assuming you've got a CID
Which is always sluggish, but useful if it comes up quick enough (esp if 2 roundabouts follow each other)  :-/

Er ... Navtech or navteq. No im not being picky, these two spellings both came up on google searches in the same individual results, are they the same company? Its navtech on the box/disc.

a further reply from my email. Lets see what you think of this...

Hi Chris,

I have spoken to Vauhall, to double check, and TMC was only introduced in 2004 in the UK.

Thanks,
Jon Foxley

Certainly my 2004 disk (earliest I have) doesn't grey out TMC.  Obviously, the system software gets updated with each map update.

I have replied along those lines and that the later discs work in europe but not here. I have asked specifically if its a license issue in the uk. Awaiting reply, but no prizes for guessing the probable answer.
