From the posts that I have read 8 years of dark UK winters seems to be the average life. When the fail, they stop 'striking' like an old  flourescent tube.

Cem - do you have to use yours in the daytime? (Lots of cars in your pictures have lights on)

mostly in day time I dont use them..

the exception is very cloudy or fogy days..

Thanks for the reply. I wondered if you had to have them on during the day by law. The EU states that all new vehicles here will have them by 2012.

Nope..there is no law here that forces to use them on day time..
