Interior light problem
« on: 22 October 2008, 18:56:17 »

Okay here goes:
my interior light doesnt work and am slightly confuzzled as to why. Fuses have been checked and the bulbs have been replaced but still doesnt work. The 2 map reading lights work fine but the main one just doesnt want to work. Anyone had this problem? dont know if its like that for a reason being an ex-plod car.

thanks
Dave

I guess its never worked, as most plod forces disable it.

If you've got a button on the dash that looks like an upside down half of sun (sh1t description I know), push it, then try again ;)

From the moment I picked up your book until I laid it down, I was convulsed with laughter. Some day I intend reading it.

iv been messing with my omega, the drivers kickplate has the gearbox and central locking ecu behind it, if you disconnect the c/locking ecu the centre light doesnt work and also doesnt centrally lock so could be alterations on ecu maybe?

Appears to be an ex pod effort, my ciggie plug does not work either (although I have joined the wires back up. I got bored in the queue out of santa pod the other day and pulled the int light out, there are all sorts of plod mods! Hoping to get time this weekend to have a fiddle and will write up what I find  :y

Is there an online wiring digram anywhere for these badboys?  :)

(also int. boot switch not working)

i did some exploring at the wknd, found a relay had been joined in to the central locking ecu, didnt know what it was for till after i took it away, its for the boot opening remote button,so that even with the engine running you can open the boot, but now i need to have the key out to open it,i also managed to burn out my interior light while trying to sort it out,so needless to say i left it alone after that till someone else finds out how to sort it out, must be a common thing on ex plod cars, might go into local plod garage an ask how they disable them :)
