Hi Everybody,
First i must say happy new year and thanks to all your contributions, it has not only save some of us save money by doing repairs ourselves but also making some of us who initially have no knowledge about certain things in these cars, now able to fix certain problems.

Now i have a problem with my CCR 2006 in my 2000 Omega, initially, when i put in the 4 cd's, it played some but now, when i load the cd's it checks and then say NO CD, i don't know it the lens are dirty or the unit is bad.

Has anyone come across such problem and if so, what can i do because the same cd's i load, play well in my other car.

Sounds like the laser is getting tired - they don't last forever, and using CDRs accelerate this dramatically

 I have just replaced my CCR2006 with an after market HU so have a CCR 2006 available you can try if you're looking to replace yours.

It's not quite as simple as that however, you would have to swap over the front face (quite simple, the one on mine is detached). I have never used the cd although I could test it at the weekend.

I've promised the cassette and detached front face to other OOF members but it would seem a shame to just lob the main body into the bin, especially if it can be recycled.
