gearbox and climate update

I know that it is possible to update at. gearbox and ecc software.
My question is: why should I do it? Should I do it? What's it good for?

I presume yours is the 5 speed auto?  We do not get those in the UK, so have no experience of the improvements in those.

The climate tends to improve the system operation, and also calm the fans down at switch on.
