cd multichanger
« on: 04 March 2009, 14:24:26 »

Hi guys, im wondering if anyone can help me out here.

I have recently purchased this for my 1998 vauxhall omeha elite.

the problem i am having is were to put the cd changer. I am assuming it has had one in before in the boot to the right handside as i cannot see any exsistance of a cd changer being in the glovebox.
In the boot there are connectors below but on the cd changer i have bought of ebay is a nine pin male end.
pics below.

the person who i bought it off said i had come out of a 1997 omega elite but im not so sure as i cannot locate the correct plugs in the car.

any help would be appreciated otherwise i shall be sending it back. :y

cheers guys

Not all Changers are interchangeable and you need to get the correct one for your head unit.

I think that changer went with the SC804 head unit?

 :-/

The leads in the boot woudl suggest to me that you have purchased an incorrect head unit.

CCR800 ?

Hold fire before you send it back as someone will probably be along shortly with details of the changer you need, just in case it is this one - I`ve only seen that connected to an SC804 myself..

The unit you need is a Blauplunkt CDC, the picture of the 12 pin (6pin X 2 row) connector you say is in the boot, fits a CDC unit for sure, (have one in my car, with a CCR600 Headunit)

Hope this is of some use  :y

CDC2 changer required.  Be aware that not all CDC2s will work either, as there are different types, though they all look identical

Not sure its fair to send it back...the guy said its from a 97 elite and it will be...they changed the head unit and changers in 98 to the Bose ones (CCR800 and CDC2 changer)...if the guy sold you it correctly then hes done nothing wrong...

As said you will need a CDC2 Blaupunkt changer thats come from a setup with CCR600 or CCR800 head unit

Watch out for that one as there are at least 11 variants of CDC2 used by Vauxhall and they are not all compatable with each other. Does anyone have the correct 10 digit part number from the label of the correct setup, so at least you have a head start on which one you are looking for.
