Tech2 2013 readings
« on: 12 May 2009, 15:48:11 »

Have just spoken to Dave about my system saying safe and not letting me put the code in and he recommends putting the Tech 2 on it as they may have come "unpaired" I am in Dartford Kent, anyone in this area with a tech 2?

Closest is Kevin Wood....and hes a fair distance.

There is no user code entry on the 2013.

I was unsure about this one - from my understanding, after a battery change, the display now shows SAFE and the stalk controls no longer function.

Sounds like something has unpaired somewhere - but is there an option to reprogram stalk controls or is it something more serious?

Just to clarify....
After the battery was disconnected for a cambelt change then re-connected I noticed the steering wheel controls for the stereo were not working. When i push the radio button the radio works fine but bleeps every 10 seconds or so and flashes "radio safe". If i push the main button I dont get any bleeps or "radio safe". If I use the sat nav, the same thing happens, bleeps and safe, once again if I press main, sat nav works fine no bleeps. The 4 disc changer works fine too...........?? I tried resetting the system doing the AS button but it does not allow me to enter the code and there is no confirmation bleeps after 6 seconds.

Dont remember one of those on mine....?
Press and hold clear for 6 seconds to re set, might work.

As TB says, there is no user security code on ncdc 2011/13/15 head units. The security is in the pairing with screen, code can only be entered with tech2.

Dont remember any bleeps when i had a pairing issue after dash removal either.... :-/

AS button on 2013 is replaced with a # button on 2015

Assuming it used to work properly before, might be worth attempting depair/repair of the HU and screen.

Hi all

Thank you all for your help, managed to get it put on a tech 2 and all is ok! Possible explanation from the guy with the machine is that it is a brand new stereo that was put in before it was sold to me and when the battery was first disconnected it had no settings so it all had to be reset on the tech 2. on another note, I told him about the forum and because of the lack of tech 2 owners darn sarf, he will think about joining the forum and possibly helping out with his tech 2 - watch this space, I will keep you informed.

again, thanks for your help ;D
