AIR CONDITION PROBLEM

Hi, i have a problem with the air condition.
My car is a Omega 2.5 CD 2000 model. There are 2 fans in front of the car. The fans are working fine if i don't use the AC. When i turn the AC on, the fans work fine till the 90C temperature. When the heat reaches the critical value over 90 celcius, the second stage on the fan activates and its rpm increases. At that time the second fan stops turning. Therefore the temperature reaches to 95 Celcius. The fan works at fast stage as the AC on with a high noise from the fan.

These conditions are in a crowded trafic and never  tried it on highway.

Is this normal or do both fans have to work while AC is on?

Both fans should work. My guess would be a relay failed in the fuse box next to the battery, but check the fuses in here too.

The relays switch the fans from series connected to parallel to control the speed hence my suspicion of the relays.

what are the markings on gauge - a 2000 car may be 90/100 or 80/100.

The gauge should always be around midpoint :)

It is right in the middle at all times. But when the AC is on, it passes the middle.

I think the main problem is that one of the fans stops working, so that half of the cooling pannel stays hot while the remaining is cooling. Therefore the noise of the fan is very much as we think only one of them is cooling while the AC is on.

I will check the relay first. That solution seems possible. :y

Hey Kevin,

Thanks a lot buddy ;). I checked the fuse box and the problem is there as you have told :y. Now everything works fine.
