ok i have searched but cant find an answer.

my car came with a delco cdr500 & its working ok,BUT i am going to have to do some work on it so will have to disconect the battery.

question-is there a way to get the code from the unit?

or is it a bin job?

Delco units cannot be reliably decoded from serial number, but I can certainly reprogram them if you want to send it over to me

Go easy TB !!  The reason its often that high is that many of the Vx Dealers are sending them over to me first

Nah, thats BEFORE they send them your way. They are bloody criminals - well some are, not mentioning names like Evans Halshaw in Milton Keynes  :-X

i got robbed with one of the auction style decoding services by the serial number. they reckon you can get the code by entering your serial number, but i was then told the cdr500 had to be taken to a dealer.
If you decide to upgrade your best off trying to sell the old head unit. you will prob be suprissed how much you get for it without a code. :y
think i got around £40 without the code, ones with codes are usually £60+
