My 1994 Omega did that for all of the 6 years I owned it. The rear screen element acts as the aerial so I think it is inherent in the design.

Mine is mostly, but occasionally it'll cause interferance when the heated rear screen is turned on. Apparently it's the connections to/from the screen & the amplifier that sits under the rear parcel shelf.  :y

Ahhh. So the system is capable of working with the heated rear screen switched on  :)

The mantra with aerials seems to be that you need good electrical connections (including earth connections).

I do know that the aerial plug in the back of the radio is a weak point (the copper core in the coaxial cable is very fine).

If it works fine without the heater on but not when it is then I would focus on making sure all the connectors in the wires between the rear screen and the aerial amplifier are clean and tight.

If you find the aerial amplifier please let me know where it is  :y

Sandwiched between the metal parcel shelf and the plastic/fabric shelf you can see.  :y
