Pairing a C.I.D with Tech 2
« on: 10 September 2009, 11:07:17 »

Sorry in advance if this has been covered but i could not find it in my search.

I have an 03 3.2 Elite with an NCDC 2013 with G.I.D. I bought a colour screen for it off of ebay but it had not been depaired before removal.

I have not been able to sort it out as no one can seem to depair it, I came across this web site http://www.motor-ecu.eu/decoding/opel/decoding  the other day and they are able to do this no problem...or so they say.

My question is has anyone here successfully done this to a screen and how difficult is it to pair a screen in delivery state to an existing NCDC with Tech 2 as my local dealer is my last choice to go to...also does anyone do this in this country (UK)..

A few here have 'depaired' screens the manual way.

there are some tech2's knocking about as well for the other side.

Where abouts are you based?

Tech2 cannot depair anything unless you know the original pairing code used.

Any of the people mentioned at http://theboy.omegaowners.com have the ability and knowledge to depair if the code is known, and repair to a code of your choice.

If your radio is already paired with a different code, you need to depair that first using original screen (or a screen in delivery mode).

Marks DTM, Dave DND and I are probably the few people in the country (world?) who can discover the radio pairing code, but as of yet, have neither the time, equipment or funds to discover CID pairing codes.

I think Dave DND can reset a CID to delivery mode, but I have not been able to test his method myself yet.

Thats what i thought but did'nt want to admit to myself, but for £60 i think it might be worth a go...

Would vaux dealers have a problem pairing a screen in delivery state, my dealer has trouble diagnosing the simplest of problems sometimes...

My experience of Vauxhall dealers, you find one or 2 dealers that may have a technician capable of properly using the Tech2, the rest are too stupid.

Try contact Dave DND (member here) about the depair of CID.  Also, where are you based, as the Tech2 owners here are generally cheaper than the dealers, and know what they are doing!!

Remember, as well as pairing, you'll need the code indexes programming on the replacement screen.

Sorry, at the moment I am unable to depair the CID screens -

Give me a yell late October, and may be in a position to do it then.

No, Code Indexes are the config for devices. If it has the wrong code index, the config will be wrong.  This may mean only Trip Computer is wrong, or it may mean other parts are not working correctly.

Nightmare mod !
What are you doing, upgrading from mon to CID?  Is the CID worth that amount of effort?

I can't make up my mind if I prefer GID or CID  :-/
