It's one of those things..my mig is just right and i would'nt change anything on it apart from the colour screen sat nav, the G.I.D. is ok but if i had colour screen it would be perfect imo...just being anal i suppose but i cant help it.

It's a £1000 upgrade if you just drove into a dealership and wanted it installed..

I tend to disable the map option on mine, as its too slow to draw pop up intersections.  On the upside, I like the CID because it always displays clock (GID drops clock when pictorial instruction pops up) and it shows total distance to destination on pictorial screen.

Tech2 cannot depair anything unless you know the original pairing code used.

Any of the people mentioned at http://theboy.omegaowners.com have the ability and knowledge to depair if the code is known, and repair to a code of your choice.

If your radio is already paired with a different code, you need to depair that first using original screen (or a screen in delivery mode).

Marks DTM, Dave DND and I are probably the few people in the country (world?) who can discover the radio pairing code, but as of yet, have neither the time, equipment or funds to discover CID pairing codes.

I think Dave DND can reset a CID to delivery mode, but I have not been able to test his method myself yet.

In Spain there is another person who is able to depair CID (return to Delivery State). The answer is to reset some memory locations inside 93c56.

There are a number of people who can reset CIDs to delivery state, thats easy enough, but very few people who can discover the pairing code used ;)

Easy, read 93c56 of my paired CID (known code), and search the code inside the dump.

Not that simple, the code is encrypted in many instances. Reading a dump with an eeprom programmer is the easy bit, and if you are not carefull you can inadvertantly reprogram one of the bytes to make the chip read only !! Seen it happen far too many times.

Not fully investigated CID, but suspect it is encoded.

Its something I need to play with a bit more, but currently having a heck of a job programming the eproms for some reason.

This is getting a bit technical for me i'm used to bikes where you take it off clean it and put it back on and it works again.....but if anyone wants my CID to play with your welcome.
If you can sort it i would pay....i just wanna bolt it in and forget about it.
