Please excuse me jumping in on this thread, I have a bit of a 'funny' going on with the (standard) radio in my Elite. When I turn on the rear screen demist the radio just goes off into a load of static and doesn't come back until I turn the demist off.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

That fault could still be down to any one of the classic Omega problems

Favourite`s are a dodgy joint at the rear of the head unit, Joint in the kickwell, joints from the booster to the screen, and the booster itself

Thanks for that, I'll start checking!

BTW, if the aerial is in the back window, then what is the small 'bee-sting' aerial on the roof for, the satnav?

Thanks again.

Sorry not been on for a while. My little aerial seems to be connected to stereo via booster. When I unplug little antenna the radio goes off, not off in power but reception. Have checked all other connections mentioned and all are good. Can I bypass the booster using the existing aerial?

Those things dissappeared about 15 years ago ! And Maystar ceased around 5 years ago.

But in answer to the question, no, it will not work with the Omega, or any car with an internal aerial.
