Only thing I can suggest next is to remove the radio for 10 mins, refit, and see what display prompts as far as code entry

Enter code, and then see what happens to the display then

Ok I'll give that a try. I also thought of checking the pins on the plug at the rear of the unit.. the one that plugs into the metal cage what do you think?

unlikely to be the display plug, but whilst out, check the wiring at the back of the stereo to make sure all is ok, and then let me know what it does when refitted

Also, if you update your profile details with a location, there may even be someone nearby that can help you

Errrrrrr I don't want to appear foolish but....

how does one enter the code if the display isn't working?

Fair question !

When the Vauxhall stereos are initially powered up, all display modes are run simultaneously so  that the code can be entered. Only once the code has been put in does the radio then default to  its programmed state.

If you have no display when first powered up, then you really do have a serious problem, and not a programming one.

Hi again

Quick update, taken head unit out for 30 mins refitted, did'nt ask for any codes but original problem still persist. Checked both connections all seem ok so assuming it must be the headunit itself. Any how unless there are any other ideas thank for all your help up to now!

Can you confirm that something is plugged into all THREE blocks and not just the lower two?

I have to assume so, would the top pins not be bent if they wer'nt plugging together?
