What other Omega Headunits....
« on: 26 November 2009, 19:49:32 »

will allow for an Aux in somehow - I don't mind if it's from behind (oo-er) or the front but just don't fancy a normal looking stereo in the place as it might look odd - but desperately want to use my MP3 player Aux'd in somehow- any ideas ??? Oh and I've tried a FM transmitter - rubbish

oh mine is a CCR2005 I think or is it CDR2005, but I'm sure you know what I mean - It's also out of a 2001 facelift

If you want high quality L+R aux in you won't find it on any of the standard Omega Head units i'm afraid.

None of the Omega head units have a stereo Aux input.

Your options are limited to aftermarket stereo / FM modulator / Parrot phone kit

Thanks for the replies - how easy will it be to match up the surround thingy to the actual dash colour?

I don't know of anyone who has managed to match it.  :( I think that Volkswagen and Audi have also covered their interiors with rubberised matt charcoal paint and caused the same problems for their owners.

If you manage to get a match please let me now how.  :y

VAG ones are easy - we sell rubberised fascia adaptors

As I don`t own an Omega  ::) I cannot be certain of exact panel colour match, but I do have available three colours of Omega panel, listed as Black, Gunmetal and Silver

I do have that gunmetal plastic, although it wasn't listed for omega, it was fir Agila but i think  adaptors are the same.
But the colour isnt the same but slightly different.
Thanks for the info Dave maybe some other OOf member will be able to know more about this.
I know it is a small problem but that difference in colour is going on my nerves.

Yes, its also listed for the Aguila, so we are both looking at the same panel.

Have a search for a panel that is NOT manufactured by Autoleads, and you may well come up with something different.

However, as an alternative, have a word with a local paint factors, as colour matched spray cans are often available for around a tenner, and you could get it matched to the surrounding panel - I`ve done that a few times now with headrest monitors mounted into leather with some very good results

Thanks for the advice.
Acutally my adaptor is not made by Autoleads it was made by Regent (Italian company) so I guess those Autoleads could maybe be ok.

Same product that one

Autoleads don`t actually manufacture their own fascia, just put their labels on them
