Took a photo of the wiring today. This is from a 2002 2.6 MV6.

The wiper stalk with the variable intermittent capability has an extra pair of wires that are coloured Black/Yellow and Black/White. (Red Arrows in the pic). Looking down into the switch in situ the top left connector has two wires connected to one socket, again both Black/Yellow and Black/White. Cut the Black and Yellow wire (the Blue Arrows) and connect the two ends to the two wires from the switch. That’s all there is to it.

The picture is of a stalk that doesn't have the connector for the MID. If you've got one of these you'll have a 6 way connector with 3 MID and 2 Wiper wires.

On the new stalk looking at the picture,  from left to right
Brown with red stripe
Brown
Brown with white stripe
bottom row
Black with yellow
Spare
Black with white

I'll check the existing wires in the morning

OK, your exisiting Stalk has 3 connections for the MID display and you've now got one with 5  [1] which is for both the MID and the wiper bit.
Connect the Brown with red stripe , Brown, Brown with white stripe to your exisiting MID connector. You may find with a couple of picks you can remove the connectors from within the plastic socket and move them to the old socket. Otherwise it's a case of cutting them and solder them back up.  The Black and Yellow and Black and White are for the variable wiper and connect up as my picture.

[1] ignoring the blank connectors

Right i have removed the plastic block of the new stalk, this was achieved by pressing the 2 small yellow tabs with a small screwdriver

which will allow the small sockets on each wire to slide out, once they have been freed

To release the sockets from the plastic holder follow NickA's  advice  highlighted by Welung666 and insert a pin of some sort down the hole towards the center of the plastic connector, this releases the tab locking the socket into the connector allowing you to push them out of the connector using a small screwdriver

If it ever stops raining i will remove the existing stalk and continue the process

You will need a circuit diagram to identify the pin in the wiper main connector that needs to be removed, then the variable resistor is wired in series with it.

I have not yet changed the relay so have a slightly limited range of delay timing.

I've just carried out this mod on my cdx, thanks to all for the pics.

Having changed the stalk, could somebody please clarify the details of the relay that's mentioned above and exactly what effect changing it would have on the intermittent timings?

Very many thanks.:y

On  a facelift I didn't think you had to change any relays. It's just the wiring mod that's needed
