You have to switch your ignition on and radio off before following the radio code entry procedure

SAFE with no numbers means IGN is not on

Did you follow these instructions http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1185223347 from the maintenance guide section?

Don't do that! just listen to Dave and follow the instructions on his website http://www.dndservices.co.uk/vauxhall-ccrt700-bose-on-star.html
What works for me is
1. turn ignition on.
2. switch radio off
3. turn ignition off & take key out
4. press AS key (and keep it pressed)
5. Put key in and turn ignition on (still pressing AS key)
6. keep pressing AS key until the beep :y
7. enter code by pressing buttons 123&4 to change the four digits of the code.
8. When the correct code is showing on the display press and hold the AS key again until it beeps.
Job done  :y

Actually, the code entry instructions for the CCRT700 are not on my website

 :-[

However, the above code entry is not entirely correct, and needs the following amendment to start it off

Code Entry as Follows:
Switch On Ignition (No Need To Start Engine)
Turn OFF stereo
Press & Hold Preset " AS " and
Switch Radio On - Display Shows
" SAFE " And Then Shows " 10 - - - - "

Press preset " 1 " repeatedly for 1st Digit
Press preset " 2 " repeatedly for 2nd Digit
Press preset " 3 " repeatedly for 3rd Digit
Press preset " 4 " repeatedly for 4th Digit

OR - use telephone keypad to enter code
(thats the bit I am unsure of)

If the correct code number is now shown
Press & Hold Preset " AS " Until the Unit Beeps

I suspect that with the message of RADIO SAFE that the unit may be codelocked from incorrect code entry atempts, and if this is the case, the ignition and radio must be left switched on for up to a continuous 2 hours to reset before another code entry attempt is permitted. Make sure you have a confirmed code number as you do not get infinate attempts with that model, and once all attempts have been used up, thats it - I cannot reset it.
