What you can do, and is supposed to happen, are 2 seperate things.
HID's are extremely bright, don't try staring into one to prove it, you'll damage your eyes.
Because of this it is a LEGAL REQUIREMENT that on new cars that have this as part of their design. ie .. construction and use regulations ... that a system of levelling is incorporated that continually and automatically adjusts the lights in accordance with the road conditions to avoid blinding other drivers. You can see this occur on a "proper" HID simply by putting the lights on pointing at a wall then standing in the boot !!! the lights WILL adjust.
Now, unless you drive with one finger on the headlight adjuster wheel, and you develop an "ulrasensitive backside", you will never actually keep up with changing road surfaces, so you WILL blind oncoming drivers.
This is not only dangerous .. but bloody selfish ... comes under the "I'm alright Jack" heading IMHO
And thats BEFORE we start talking about washers etc.
If the car is not designed for HID's .. don't fit them. Projectors and decent bulbs .. fine... but NOT HID's
Just my opinion .. nowt else..
