« on: 19 December 2009, 23:01:50 »

the light around the on / off /volume is working ,as is the radio. The light that lights all the preset buttons is out. Is it east to get the front of the radio off and what bulb is in there?

In my experience, it's more to do with the radio cage ie where the radio plugs into as I had mine out and stripped it down to test the miniature bulbs for the front panel, and these were all ok. I even put a meter on the pin on the multi connector in the back of the cage which goes +12v when the lights are on and turns the radio panel lights on. All these were/are ok on my car but sometimes the lights will come on and smoetimes they won't!! I guess it's a bad connection on the cage connector. Maybe.

I went out in my car yesterday evening, first of all the radio was lit up, stopped the car, got back in and started the car, lights were off! Like I said, I did try but there's probably something fundamental that I'm missing!

all i did was take it to bits,  recover and glue in place the white plastic on the tuning button. Tested the bulbs which were ok and put it back in. it worked. Could be as you said the terminal at the back. Should have put vaseline on it as that might have helped.
