Not all SIM cards work if memory serves ... must be compatible with the older phone system. I think my old vodaphone one worked in the old car .. I'm sure Dave DND or TB will correct any errors of mine .. or tell you which SIM to get !!!

Must be on a GSM900 Network - So Vodafone or O2 in the UK.

That is also my understanding.  orange, 3, Tmobile et al most likely will not work but, there again, I do not know which providers piggy back onto which other providers networks.  Baseline -  its O2 & Voda that do....

Yep, 02 or Voda are the only two that work.  I believe Tesco piggyback onto the 02 network.

Put an 02 SIM in my telematics unit yesterday morning and it still comes up as BT Cellnet!  Quite handy SWMBO being sent a pack of four for nothing.

Don't actually plan to use the phone, just negates the need to push a button when turning the radio on as it complains when there's no SIM installed.

So you need to ask them if their network is GSM900 (one of the global standards).  GSM1800 won't work, nor will any of the 3G bands (most 3G networks have an older GSM900/1800 network to fall back on)

Try a SIM from either Etihad Etisalat Company or Saudi Telecom Company.

MTC use both frequencies so unlikely to work.
