this might get a very short no for an answer but is it possible to swap the basic, time temp display for the more advanced trip stopwatch and fuel one and have full functions?

What stereo are you currently running, as it will give us a litle more info as to how your car is set up, and what would need to be done if this is at all possible

assuming you have a GLS which has a 'TID', you can put the MID in, but you won't have most of the sensors for check control, so you will get a lot of false errors (lights/oil/coolant/washer bottle)

Out of pure curiosity, what sort of job would that be to add the various missing sensors (lights/oil/coolant/washer bottle) etc? - Is the loom already there to accomodate them? and is it just a case of adding sensors as budget allows, or does everything have to be done in one hit because of extra wiring etc?

Some of them should be fairly easy if the loom is there (washer bottle, coolant expansion tank, brake sensors) But i am not sure if it will have the loom  :-/

Most GLS spec cars i have seen don't have it in place, so would be a quite a lengthy task.

Oil lack sensor could be fun to add to

Easy enough to swap the TID for a MID, though none of the check control will work, though fuel computer will.  From memory, not possible to disable check control on MID (would need to double check, know you can on GID/CID)

what year is omega, as re-wired mine for up grade but only problem was the brown wire's all 6 of them, so have 2 plugs well 3 one yellow and one gray and the black one gose with the yellow one. think the brown wire's are for the radio but not got round to checking.

I have been thinking about doing this too, mine is an 01 ex-plod MV6.  Would be good to hve on-board computer functionability; does anyone know what loom this is likely to have, would it be the GLS one?

facelift *may* have right plug.  Can you check the connector, see if its a 34 pin grey one?

Check control will be missing off the car, so you will have to fool the unit to stop constant errors

Ok, will attempt to find the time to have a proper look, was hoping it was one of those 'black or white' questions lol

Assuming it does and it fits, what's involved in fooling the Check Control?  I only really wanted the better display for Fuel Consumption readings mainly, not bothered about Check Control fortunately!

i have a list some were, i made from the wires and what they did to the mid, ill have a look and see if i can find it somtime. i know one if you connected to another wire turn'd of the check control.

But it should be possible to retro-fit the check control as well? It's only a unit, isn't it? Plug the check control unit in and you'll have the bulb check on? I think that the oil level sensor is the only one that is very difficult to retrofit, it's a oil-pan-off- job... As said, washer and coolant level are easy enough to fit.
