You swap one for the other. It's in the relay/fuse box under the steering column, opperater the hazzards and you can feel which one is clicking ....... too much snow outside to go & look at mine!!

Sorry Andy, I didn't make myself clear. I meant where in the dash lighting can you fit an extra light? (I've never had mine off so apologies if it is obvious) :-?

Ooops!  ;)
See page 26 & 27 clicky  :y  :y

My Omega has recently started beeping a quiet acknowledgment on locking/unlocking via remote when hazards flash-from the boot area, and now this beeps quietly in time with the right indicator/flasher or hazards-but not the left!!  Huh??

Car has a towbar and aftermarket rear parking sensors, but not towing at present and sensors switched off (sounder on rear shelf-so not this).  It's not the power sounder, so I'm guessing its a beeper repeater for the towbar indicators, located near the boot lock somewhere as this is where the sound is coming from.

Any ideas??

Guessing that it is a towbar wiring issue?

Comments appreciated...

Right-had it to pieces; another 2 hours working on this car  >:(

Rang the towbar fitter who said most likely to be water in socket-pulled caps off, looks damp.

Had the trim panel off, pulled all the wiring out of the hole and inspected, lots of Scotch clips  >:(
One thick brown wire looked like had once been in a Scotch clip due to sheathing missing, everything else looked normal.

Stripped top damp socket, red wire loose, re-connected.  Disconnected green wire on socket as suggested by fitter, to see if this is the prob; still beeps.  Bloody thing.

Car works fine otherwise, so decided to re-assemble and refit.  Two hours and no progress.   >:( >:(

Don't use the towbar, but like everything perfect on the car so a little fault like a beeping right indicator is hugely annoying to me.  Not bothered about removing beeper and fitting dash light, just want what is fitted to work 100%.

Will dry the sockets out and have another go in the dry.

Horrible things that should be binned!

I generally fill the back of the plug & socket with silicon grease when I fit them. You can then even undo them at a later date if need be!  :y  :y

I fully agree that the scotchlocks should be binned, and my guess is that they may actually be causing the problem.

here`s my thoughts -

Scotchlocks are notorious for crap connectivity and are known to break down over time (or bumps) that we all know, but could it be that one of them is partially breaking down and giving a high enough resistance that the circuitry thinks that a trailer is connected, and therefore setting off the warning beeper ?
 :-?

I completely applaud the correct use of the stereo to drown out the faults though

welung666 cured this  :y

We had the wiring to bits removed all the Scotchlocks and welung soldered and sealed all connections, then inspected the sockets.

The culprit was the lower socket which had corroded and was replaced.

Problem solved  :y
