Does this unit have to be professionally installed?

I see there is an 'Ant' wire, does that hook into the car's antenna feed, or is it just a trailing wire?

Anyone can fit it, although if you have to ask the question, then it may be beyond your capabilities.

Ant wire is the Antenna itself and is not connected to anything.

That doesn't necessarily follow....

It was more an inquiry on what was recommended...

Without knowing your technical capabilities, I can only err on the side of caution with a reply.

In my experience, the "generalised" question you have asked usually comes from someone who only has limited understanding of vehicle electrics, hence my answer - a bit like the old saying in a shop of an item with no price shown, if you have to ask, you cant afford it.

That said, if you can find a live and earth in the car and fit a switch in line to power it up, thats about all that is involved - live to the unit, plug in your source signal and tune in the radio.

If that sounds simple, thats because it is !!
