Does the inter-cooler fan run all the time?

Nope, only when rad fans on.

Yet another reason to ditch the viscous  :-X



intercooler fan has habit of seizing.  Free it off, then connect it up to a car battery for an hour, that frees it up

Just seen this post.
Is it OK to remove the viscous fan?
I would like to dich it coz its very loud until it has gone through its gears (auto) :-?

Well I have removed it and during the winter it hasn't caused any heat issues but i know i need to fit electric replacement for the summer.
much quieter now though

Mine was removed for the 18 months I ran it - that includes nice weather, and some not so nice weather, and giving it large up the passes in the Lake District.

Maybe in hotter climates, but UK never saw mine go above the normal running temps (and nowhere near the 100C markings on gauage)
