CID to MID.
« on: 22 March 2010, 23:31:34 »

I have just bought a replacement NCDC2013 and the colour screen for the sat nav, as i bought both parts together, will they need pairing still, or can i just fit them straight into the car?

If the NCDC and colour screen (CID) came from the same car then it should be ok, your need some extra wiring, for the RGB side of things.

The other thing to check is the Bose bit, mainly due to Amps and Speakers and what Bose mode the Head unit is in, guessing yours being an Elite is Bose setup, Hopefully and probably your Donor  NCDC and CID came from an Elite / Bose setup.

Reckon you should forget the whole thing and sell it to me cheep, ;D Chris.  :y

Oh.., the other thing is, I'm assuming the donor HU and CID came from another Omega?, if its from a Vectra or something then its all a bit of a non starter.

If it's a 3.2 Elite the RGB wiring should already be there, will be tucked up by the dash vent area.

If the units are paired and from a non-multi CAN car (Vectra B, Astra G etc) you should be OK but will need the coding config changing to match the car (3.2 has 17" wheels, auto, HID headlamps etc)

What's wrong with your old NCDC2013 / GID / CID ?

I thought the screens were different, plus problems getting the computer functions working?

Yes, vectra B and astra G screens are the same (mine is from an Astra G)....there is a mode pin (pin 1 or 32 from memory) that has to be connected to 0V to put the cid into 'Omega mode'.

As for wiring changes....if you have a CDR2006 then there is a few bits need altering (as well as adding the 0V connection described above)....mianly to support the CAN interface between headunit and cid which is not present on the headunit to mid install

My old ncdc2013 the lens is shot for the satnav, and the cid is fine, just fancy a colour one The new ncdc2013 and MID i think are paired to each other and it came with the wiring loom, but i'm hoping i won't need it!

I think your terminology of screens is wrong, check FAQ, as I'm confused...
