Help needed urgently Horn not working
« on: 25 April 2010, 14:37:21 »

Hi everyone can some one shed some light on the above problem.

My horn isnt working have checked fuse under steering wheel its ok.

Is there any relays under the bonnet that are linked to the horn, or could the horn its self need replaced?

As far as iam aware airbag hasnt been off so steering wheel buttons should be fine.

Any help mucho appreciated cheers

I would also check the horns themselves and their wiring under the n/s front wing.  They get very weathered there!! :o :o :D ;)

Mine were full of crud and were simply replaced; I used two 50Hz for a French 60s sound, not a 50 and 100.

Just unbolt and fit new ones if all else is ok-I have heard of wiring rubbing through and shorting.

If fitting new ones, face them rearward to lessen the risk of crud filling them again.

There should be two horns on your car, you could be unlucky that both have failed ... but try taking them off & checking each with a battery. One of mine failed doe to the convoluted conduit chafing through a wire.  :-/
