CCR 2006 code input
« on: 07 May 2010, 10:01:07 »

Guys, I wonder if I could pick your brains as there's something I'm a bit confused with.

My mig's just gone back on the road after open-v6 surgery and unfortunately the bloke who helped me disconnected the battery before either of us had given disabling radio security a thought.

I now have two problems - firstly in my manual I have two cards with different 4-digit codes. My friend has tried one of them twice unsuccessfully, so I'll assume it's the other one.
Secondly, when I switch the unit on it displays "Safe", but when I follow the instructions in the audio manual (hold AS and switch on - wait for beep) it just displays "Safe 7" and does nothing.

I understand that I have 7 attempts left before it's disabled (does this mean a new unit?) and I understand there are delays between each allowed attempt, but I just seem to be getting nowhere with it.

Any ideas or points in the right direction would be greatly appreciated - whilst the purr of my V6 is now a pleasure to listen to, for some reason my wife prefers the Golden Hour!

I'd try the other code, and you'll still on 'safe 6' if it dosn't work, to ponder your next option!!  ;)

Failing that I'm sure someone more enlightened than me will be along soon! ;D :y

Safe 7 means at least 2 hours with radio and ignition switched on before you can try again as you have entered an incorrect code 3 times.

When you give up waiting, send it to me

Cheers for the replies guys.

I didn't realise it had to be left for that long, so I'll give it another try......or two.

Failing that I suppose a trip to Paignton isn't out of the question! :)

Well that didn't seem to work Dave.

I left the ignition on with radio on displaying SAFE for just under 3 hours - it still won't let me input a code.

Going to have to think again - trouble is now I doubt I'll have a day off for a couple of weeks!
