SPORTS BUTTON NOT WORKING

can anyone help!tried the sports button on the new elite and its not working!!popped the button out all connections are good above and below.any help to get it fixed? s reg mini facelift 2.5v6 elite.thanks all!!

Take off the surround for the selector lever and clean the connectors/test the button with a meter. They sometimes come apart. Follow the cable from the lever until you find a small connector.
Worst case scenario, a trip to the scrapper.

I'm assuming you have tested continuity from the button, and shorted the button contacts out with a link wire so the button is out of the equation, if you have not done so, test connectors with a wire link. If the sports mode light comes on with the link in, replace button. if it does not, and the button tests open circuit when pressed, change relay for it in fuse box.
My local scrappie wants a fiver for the selector lever from a 2.0 16v petrol miggy, but they are all the same.
