I think I am locked out of the radio
« on: 20 May 2010, 10:14:26 »

Hi all.

I mothballed the old 3ltr Elite for a few months so disconnected the battery. When I put it back on the road recently the handbook with the radio codes had disappeared.

My wife has been driving the car and yesterday she found the handbook so happily I go to unlock the raio and cd changer.. no go.

She tells me that she has been "messing about" pushing buttons.. argggg.

It's a 700 radio and I can only get as far as "radio safe" but there is no confirmation beep followed by code input. I suspect it's gone beyond the magical 10 attempts. Any suggestions please? and what do you do if you go beyond the 10 attempts?

Yours in desperation coz the Mrs says she can't drive without music.... also it shuts her up while she drives me places  :)

Think I just spoke with you on the phone?

If you have been messing about then the unit may be codelocked and will need to be left switched on with teh ignition up for up to two hours to reset before another code entry attempt is possible.

Your code can be obtained here if you do not have it

http://www.dndservices.co.uk/vauxhall-ccrt700-bose-on-star.html

and at the bottom of the link will be another link to the cd changer code

If you have used up all of your attempts, then very expensive to reset.
