car alarm keeps going off for no reason
« on: 28 May 2010, 19:36:58 »

the alarm on my omega goes off within minutes of being locked. have disabled bonnet sensor(after being told this could be the culprit) but alarm still goes off when it feels like it. Have been told its fairley common fault with Omegas. Any solutions?     recoupbeer :y :y

hello & welcome, that could also be the powersounder, or the internal ultrasonics,

Just try pressiing the 'running man' button on the dash before you leave the car to rule that out, esp if you have a dangly air freshner.

Powersounder is under the wiper scuttle, drivers corner and often cause problems like this when ther batteries run out, most of us just unplug em.

If estate, window break sensor is also a possibility.  Needs a good code reader on it to tell...
