Water temperature guage on my 2002 2.6 V6 reads zero. I removed the Plenum chamber (Thanks Ronald McBurger) and I can see what I think is the sensor ( a single stud with a brass top ) but no wire or connector . Problem solved thinks I but I've had a good search  around the vicinity of the sensor but can't find any sign of the electrical connection. Adjacent to this stud is another sensor tilted to the bulkhead with a plastic plug Could. Can any one help please

for the single connector sensor you are looking for a single blue wire with a single female spade terminal on the end. This is your temp gauge sensor 

You might have to take the scuttle and wipers out and have a go look down the back of the engine , it will be there somewhere

The other sensor next to it is the temp sensor for the ECU and is a two wire connector that clips onto the sensor

Sometimes a piccy is worth a thousand words, but only connector to fuel rail is the injector loom.  Above that, on back of plenum, is the rear multiram which also has a connector

The connector you're looking for is the female spade connection on the wire inside the sleeve jus to the right of the (dash) temp sensor.

Thanks to everyone I am amazed at the generosity of info and offers. Unfortunately I put it all back together again yesterday as I need the car for the weekend. I will be back next week with the answer hopefully!!!!to The Boy:I would gladly accept help but I'm down in the far West. Thanks to all again

Eureka!!! Had a good poke around the wiring at the rear of the temp bulb and found inline plug with blue lead connected. The other end was tucked down behind the engine and it took a bit of teasing with a hooked wire to extract it. Reconnected and temp guage working. Thanks again to everyone I couldn't have fixed it without you. Does anyone have the correct torque figure for the bolts holding the plenum to the manifold or is it just white nuckles? I've updated my profile Dave; sorry I only joined a day or so ago and still finding my way around;- still a bit further West though :
