CD player - erratic
« on: 17 August 2010, 12:59:06 »

On full original CDs it works. On CDs I have "made" compilations it is somewhat more erratic, pausing and sometimes coming back on, basically unplayable. Error often comes up on the display.

Same CDs work fine in the CD player on my S2000. The CDs are Sony CD-R recorded via iTunes on my Mac at 2 and 4 times speed (I tried these lower speeds to test but to no avail).

I tried a CD lense cleaner but it wouldn't play it (wouldn't even recognise it as a disc) so doesn't get as far as cleaning.

Any ideas for a solution? Is it lense or disc?

Its the lens really.

none of the Omega headunts are compatible with home recorded media.

Some work for a while, then reliability drops.
Some work for one disk, but not the next.

Either way playing recorded cd's will send your headunit to an early grave over time.

Thanks. Do you know what it doesn't like about copied media?

Have a search through previous posts, as this has been discussed in great detail
