Bit of a surprise !
« on: 20 February 2008, 19:59:45 »

Coming ON to a dual carriageway this evening I was following a souper up BMW 325 with a rather loud twinned pipe exhaust SO I though a huh he's gonna shoot off, SO I dropped my Auto box down to second and started to follow: As soon as he saw an Omega on his tail, he floored it...so I did what any bloke would do...floored the Omega also.

Both he AND I were amazed how my old V6 shot after him and passed as if he were standing on blocks...his engine and exhaust was still roaring as I accelerated straight past and up to 80 before he could blink...

Big thrill for me...a even bigger surprise for him.....

Know what you mean had same sort of thing a couple ofyears ago  only with a Subaru imprezza on the A303 had a 3ltr elite auto then  he undercut me on a duel carriage way and gave me the one finger salute.
Needless to say he bottled out at well over the legal limit and turned off at next junction.
(The missus loved it)
What a motor!!!!

I think she was badged correctly BUT possibly the fancy exhaust had down graded its performance. I'm sure if I'd left her in Drive I might have struggled but because I left her in 2nd I had a lot more aceleration than he did it would appear. He tried to keep up but I was long gone.
