radio wont come out
« on: 04 September 2010, 00:49:46 »

my radio wont come out.
I unscrewed all 5 tiny screws but it wont slide out

What do I do to get it out ??

I didnt use much power to pull as I didnt want to break anything.

I was wondering if I have to take out something else before the radio, like some buttons or the ashtray thingy or something

actually I want to get the air con out at the end,
so a little on how to get to it

You got the double din keys as well? Won't just fall out after taking out the grub screws ::) if you still can't get it out with keys find a local youth ;D

But my question is,
Do I need to remove everything to remove the air con, actually I want to remove as less things as possible since I dont know anything about this stuff and wouldnt want to make a mess,
so do I need to remove the whole cage and ashtray and the buttons ??

and my radio still wont come out, what removing tools do I use ??
and how do I use them to remove the radio ??
Please help !!

Just use any old piece of stiff wire bent into shape, I have even used 4 allen keys in the past.

Old wire type coathanger is best.

Cut two lengths about 1ft long with some pliers. Bend wire in such a way that you can get about 2" into the top and the bottom holes on the right and the same on the left so you end up with two virtical 'handles'. Now pulling each to their respective side, ie pull the right towards the drivers door and then left towards the passenger door, also pull both handles towards the back of the car and it will just pop out.

Excellent advice apart from two little points...

1. I find it impossible to find any old type wire coat hangers. I guess they are no longer made?

2. Fazeel is in Bahrain, I think they drive on the opposite side of the road to us.
