mid/gid 32 pin connecter

on pin 32 the brown wire is all ready there do i take this connecter out and replace it with another pin running to earth

A mid to gid conversion doesn't need a wiring mod screen end, except to provide an extra 0v.  And this is only needed for diagnostics.


I tend to do this on the screen's connector, leaving car loom unmolested

oh s^^^ ive took out 9,10,11 and replacing 10,11 with wires from 25 ,32,33  of the 36 way adaptor :-[

Oh well.


I puposely never mess with the car loom.

I always do all the mods on a Traffic Master loom for the stereo, and just a simple wire on the screen itself.  Nothing more required.


I believe VXL V6 subscribes to the same theory...

ive only took the three wires out of the connecter,ive never cut the main loom,im using a traffic master 36 way loom,which i have cut and soldered,and made new connecters to put back into the 32 way connecter,I can refit all thats done :-/ :-/

Yep, modifying the car loom is a one way street - it's fiddly work to solder the loom back together behind the dash.

Ive put the 32 connecter back together and going to start afresh tomorrow, the loom as not been touched .I have had good think today,im still unsure which ones the amp remote, as my haynes manual only goes upto my99 and according to that it operated off the aerial one :-[

Unsure jamie,the radio has the diagram stuck to it .may be a diagram from a my2000 mid to radio would be better as the haynes only goes up 22 for the back of the radio connections,this would save me an hour or two in the morning :y
