strange dash electrical problem
« on: 15 September 2010, 12:12:21 »

jumped in the omeega last night and started it up and noticed the dash ligghts never came on,infact no lights came on inc the oil managementlight etc until i switched the light switch dial on and the car headlamps came on and so did the obc. the car works perfect but i have no speedo working, rev counter or fuel+temp gauge.

could it be a fuse or a relay or is it a common problem, tried a bang and that didn't work.  :P
Tankyou please in advance  :D

will try it asap,i should make it clear unless the light dial is switched on i have no lights on the dash at all. When the headlights are switched on my instruments illuminate but they don't move or show any dash bulbs except the indicators and hazzards.

will do cocker,i tried pushing the speedos, smacking the speedos and tbh if i walloped them anymore i'd break somthing  :-?

Will try the fuses tommorow,so its possible for a fuse to blow and all the dash guages not work ? i have no speedo or fuel gague working so its not exactly comfortable motoring at the mo,also my on board computers not working  ::)

Cheers so far though lads  :y

Interior light?  Is it working?  It's on the same circuit, as well as Drivers Memory seat and Climate Panel (if you have them).

tried the fuses bearing in mind i'm with the car and the handbooks are not, whipped out fuse 12 nothing wrong there, tried fuse 15 and it was blown  :D  great stuff so i got a 20 amp and chucked it in and the dash works fine now  :y

so then i wondered what fuse 12 was and then to my horror i thought i hope its not the bleedin radio as i don't have a security pass and i tried it and its gone into safe mode  :(

flipping going blackpool tonight and would not have been happy not knowing what speed i wasn't doing or if somthing started going wrong i wouldn't have known about it and now thats fixed i have no music so i can't turn it up if they all start moaning and to boot i have the mother in law in the back  :-/

anyone know how to find a code for a phillips 2006 ccr quick  :question

Thanks  :P
