Alarm system problem
« on: 08 October 2010, 16:24:31 »

I have a problem with my Omega 2.2CD 2003.The alarm system and the immobiliser seem to be stopping me starting the car. When I try the ignition nothing happens. When I try to lock the car it locks and then opens again immediately. The car was working perfectly when I put it in the garage last night and I have never had this problem before. Is there a simple solution?

Does the engine management light flash when you turn ign to II ?

If not, its not immobiliser issue.

Do both engine lights come on with ign? (one is pic of engine, other is car with a spanner)?

Where abouts are you? You may be lucky and have someone local who may be able to help.

OK, so back to basics.  Its not the immobiliser then. The alarm is not connected to the engine ECU, so its not that.

Does it start eventually (say, 10s of cranking), given that its a 2.2?

Worth checking condition of all the plugs as well.

Well done, but don't keep us in suspenders. What was the problem.
