Remote battery + removal
« on: 19 October 2010, 13:28:19 »

Don't have manual and need new remote battery from in town today.

Anyone know
a) what battery is needed
and, more importantly
b) how do I open the keyfob to get to the battery (which will answer a) I suppose! :D

By opening/replacing, will the key still work? or do I need to resync?

Car is facelift 2.5 Elite with 3 button fob.

Ta.

You have a small hole on one side of plastic case close to metal part. Use a small screwdrivedr and simply pry it apart.
Baterry is cr 2032 as I recall

To claify what M has already said. Take the remote part off the key part (small tab on the rear) but DON'T lose the little chip in the horseshoe! The remote part will prise apart (be gentle) and reveal the battery. And yes a CR2032.

It shouldn't need a resync, if it does it's a simple as switching the ignition to number 2 (red lights) and pressing the lock button, it should lock and unlock about a second apart and job done! :y

Seem to remember that if you can swap battery within 30 seconds won't need a resync ;) ;)
