head units and where to find them?
« on: 18 October 2010, 19:53:00 »

I don;t read enough german to be confident ordering a whole new shebang from fleabay.de  where the prices seem far more reasonable.....   all i can find on uk is £275 ish NCDC2013's

i don;t mind spending a  fair bit, but £275 seems a bit steep for a 9 year  old car stereo  :-[   (okay i know , i know, it;s the sat nav as well....  )

so anyone got any sources for 2013/2015 units?????

i'd probably go £150 for something that was a known good un....

maybe i'm just dreaming and i'll have to shell out....

failing that,  just out of interest,  what's the likelihood of being able to retro fit my existing Elite's Carin and 2007???  and still have functionality??

CARiN in a facelift? Nah.

A real peach of a NCDC will go for £200+

Trouble with 2nd hand ones sold at a distance is that the facias on these are a bit delicate, so one in 'perfect' condition may be far from it.

Lets have a look at yours, see what we can bodge together, and take it from there (when I have time  :-[)

You cannot simply replace the stereo, the security on these do not work like that ;)

£275 includes the GID and programing to your vehicle by someone who knows exactly what they are doing  ;)

I currently have 4 NCDC 2013's, 3 Omega GID's and a Vectra C one.

One of them is a paired headunit and GID with car pass from a 3.2 V6 which due to a change of incar noise im willing to sell on for around what you are looking for. Oh and it is in perfect condition

PM me if interested

I have been stitched up by a 'respected' member on here who sold me a 2013 and screen in delivery mode wich 'just needed the face refitting' However this is balls and when i finally got round to fiddling with it turns out the face won't go on as the connectors are knackerd and there is 2 CD's stuck in the changer. So i would agree it is easy to get stitched up!

Have you contacted one of the Admins about it?

No as its partly my fault as i had it 5 months before i had a proper fiddle, plus the seller has 'stopped' doing ex-plod Omegas (and changed user name!!) now and is hardly on here, however if he does come back i will make sure all and sundry know what to expect!

If it's the person I think it is, he most certainly is not a respected member on here. A number of people I know have serious complaints about him both through here and Ebay
