Gave it a start today to make sure all was well and, on shutdown, got the dreaded 4 beeps from the powersounder.

Anyone able to provide the part number for a replacement for a 2002 model 3.2 Estate, please?  Computers are in various forms of dissarray and cant be bothered to rebuild, this late in the weekend....

Really want to get a replacement first off so that I only delve into the guts of the windscreen surround and do the deed in a oner.

At least i will have a replacement to experiment with to replace battery packs etc.

That will be 9231886 then??

Dealer today was quoting some stupid price circa £178.00 or so.  'Trace club' discount amounted to a whole 3%.

guess the answer.......   :-X

Sure Entwood was talking about £50 to £60 for his new ps iirc....?

Or post it to Kevin for battery soldering? Cheeper still.

he did my last one, and has another in progress. Black car needs doing too. Really should have a go at soldering myself, it looks very easy....when he does it.

yeah they are sodding expensive from Vx, some have had replacement batteries fitted. But, personally as they will be unknowns and these units have been known to catch fire. You know what I have done with mine  :-X

You naughty man Tunnie.  :-X

Btw its possible to just undo the torx screw in the corner of the scuttle and reach in and loosen to the 10 mill nut holding the PS in place, it then slides rearward out of it's bracket. Then undo the plugs and it's free. Saves disturbing the wipers etc.

It is a bit like re decorating your hallway through the letterbox though.   :-/

Happy to look into replacing batteries if you like. :y

As long as the existing ones have not leaked badly it will be by far the cheapest solution.

It's worth cutting open with a hack saw first to make sure the circuit board has not been eaten by battery acid, but peeps and car age are a good sign afaik. Remove asap IMO.
