Every time i start the car i get on cid that there is no sim card inserted and certain features might be unavailable.. how can i disable the telematics because i have to push the cancel every time i turn the key in the ignition. for the moment i don't use it but i would like to use it in the future so no permament diable :)

Get any old sim card and put it in.   :y

Afraid?  ;D why afraid? Buy a pay as you go 02 or vodafone card. Fit another sim. Or fit an old sim out of contract even?

If it's going to be used in future buy one now to shut it up. No?  :-?

Guessing only useful disable is via tech2, to remove telematics, effectively turning the head unit into a 2013. Needs car pass, de pair, re config, re pair etc. Pita!

Indeed, tech2 to convert it.

Any GSM sim should do (though if you want to actually use it, it has to be a 900Mhz network)

yep.. orange too, but we have another one cosmote wich is also o 900 but egsm and their sims don't work in my telematics.. vodafone bought in 2002-2003 a national company wich was called connex gsm and on the network id in the cars display i get connex gsm not vodafone :))
