Hi,

Am struggling to get it off the steering column. Can see a release tab in the corner nearest the driver, but is there another one somewhere?

I have removed them without taking out the barrel but you risk damaging it if you don't...

hi i have a m reg omega 2.5 auto and last night i went to go out and the fob is dead. thismrning i got new battries in it and the fob works well and tested but not on the car. i cant start the car now is there any way i can disable the imobiliser on it and just use the key as normal? thanks dave

OK 2 seperate problems there Dave...

1) Fob - the fob needs re-syncing with the car. Ignition on to red lights and press the lock button. The doors should lock then unlock and it has re-synced.

2) Immobiliser - Is the orange engine light flashing while you're turning it over? If it is then check the the small chip is still inside the key itself and not loose.

I bet when you changed the fob battery teh immobiliser chip fell out, check the key to see if its there and if its not, look where you changed the battery for it (small black chip)

On some of them the larger single button fob also had the blade key incorporated, hence why the seperate fob still has the place for the chip to sit, and the blade section filled in.
