I was going to say if it's not the fuse then check the wiring between the horns and the main loom as they get broken down there for some odd reason. Easy enough to pull the horns off as one unit to bench test them :y

One of my horns failed because the conduit had chaffed its way through one of the wires.  :y

This exact thing happened to my Gold MV6 during Xmas night, waking all around in the process! Mine had chafed through the conduit and the wires by rubbing against the metal on the front panel.

sorry to ask a question on an open thread, but i have a problem with my horn not working and the fuse is intact.

when pressing the horn, it sounds like a relay is "clicking".

is there a relay in the cicuit as well?

will need to check out "chafing", but just trying to gather all possible areas to check, rather than doing it piecemeal.

cheers for help.

Yes there is a relay, if it's clicking it's working so check the wiring out first. If it's not the wiring pull the horns off (1 x 13mm bolt on the chassis rail just above the horns) and bench test them :y

so having done the bench test I've proven the horn works so therefore must be wiring.

tried to get just the horn part of the loom and vauxhall garage says only comes as part of the engine loom (for the 2.5 td).

is that what others were told, or did you manage to get just the horn part?

if the latter, do you have a prt number?

cheers for help

Vx are correct and that loom is damn expensive for what it is. You should be able to solder the wires back together and use some heavy gauge heatshrink to protect it from chaffing again. Maybe a cable tie or two to hold it away from the edges. If all else fails I can trim the horn loom from one of the looms I have here :y
