I only get display safe. I do not get radio safe. I can use the cdc3 and ncdr1100 perfectly and use sat nav and cd player and bc functions ect. so there codes must be fine. Its just the screen.

I have it booked into a trusted auto electrical shop next week. So any advise to pass over to them would help.

Thats a very dangerous, potentially expensive assumption.

If it was a known good setup before, and nobody has mixed and matched parts without using proper procedures, I'd say post it all to me.  But the screen oddity is, err, an oddity.

When it comes to the security around these, I suspect I probably know more than anyone else outside of Siemens.  What I won't do is desolder the chips, as there is a risk of damage that I am not prepared to take with other people's stuff, esp as I have to charge for decodes.

How much would you charge to sort this out for me? Providing its just the display? I think my display is KK (vectra b).

Like said before ncdr code and cdc3 must be pairded together ok as they work. I no if cdc3 has incorrect code the ncdr will not think its there? And ncdr will flash radio safe if its code is incorrect?

So the fuel computer figures are all inaccurate as well (or has that been fixed?)

Where are you? No doubt a million miles from me.

If you come to me, my prices are http://theboy.omegaowners.com/tech2/prices.shtml - so £50 for the code discovery and depair/re-pair. I'll do the BC config as well.

If the screen has a code that is unknown and does not match the NCDR and CDC, then you need to added Dave DND's charges on top, as I said earlier, the risk of damage if I lift that chip is too high - Dave DND has the correct equipment for that.

Before you potentially waste time and money, can you find out the status of the screen - you said you have access to Tech2

After nearly 4 years no problems on a CID I bought off German Ebay the gremlins have returned.

Tonight the screen was inverted and then went grey. A sharp smack on the dash and is working again.

I suspect I need a new TFT screen, however, I still have the original CID and so if anyone a) has the source of the TFT Screen and/or b) would like to fit it then would be good. My contacts for getting hold of  the TFTs are quite old now.

When I get the original (now spare unit) fixed I can then get the one currently in the car sorted as well. Thought things were going too smoothly.

Can i find out without a tech 2? ("My Naff Code Reader") as i would have to book into vx or auto electection to get it on a tech 2.

I will have to wire the diagnostic pin into the ncdr.. Which pin on a standard radio harness is the diagnostic pin?

In 2007 best thing I did was visit TB at Brackley - who, with Tech 2,  identified fault with the replacement screen which I then returned to Germany and got it replaced. Tech 2 essential but VX dealers are not reliable with this stuff. When they refitted the replacement they forgot to attach the grey cable at the back which I think is the Sat Nav.
