Blaupunkt CAR 300 radio reception
« on: 21 February 2011, 20:03:38 »

Early GLS with a CAR 300 radio / cassette player has started "loosing" radio signal.

Previously it held a radio station fine and but there was lots of static/background noise when the heated rear window was switched on.

Over the past 2 weeks it won't play any Radio 4 or 2 and when searching won't find any station, no matter where I am on the A 303 or M3. (Although this morning it did find some Spire FM, but not very clearly).

The cassette player works fine, so am able to listen to the Ipod, but not sure of why the radio signal is going.

Any suggestions for correction / resolution gratefully received.

one line on heating element not working.

As the heater element is the aerial ... that could well be the problem .... :(

Might be worth trying to bridge any "gap" with conductive paint and a very fine brush ??

Almost 100% certain it will be the aerial, or aerial cable.

The tuner in that unit is virtually bulletproof, so I`m certain its not the radio thats at fault !!
