Outside temp
« on: 09 December 2010, 16:42:48 »

Hi
My car is not showing the temp outside
It's got F showing on the display
I thought it must be the sensor on the front bumper so I changed that but still the same
Any ideas what it can be

Checked the connector
It's a 4 pin plug the one that connects to the fogs too
Seems to be fine
Any other suggestions

Try unpluging the 4 pin connector a few times and give it a squirt of contact cleaner or WD40, may be a little damp/corrosion got in there. Try the same with the temp sensor as well.

There's a lot of salt out there at the moment and it gets everywhere, salt attracts the damp as well   :y

No need to do that . . .

The car is already telling you its "F"-ing cold !!

If the sensor is OK (very hard to test it) the it's either a broken wire or damp/corrosion in the 4 pin bumper loom plug. I've got a couple of temp sensors here if you want to try a 3rd :y

Changed the sensor to a new one and still giving the F. My plug is only 2-pin plug (the one to which the sensor plugs).

Any ideas?

Does it affect the heater? Seems to blow hot all the time...

As stated above... Check the wiring ;)

I have the same problem! And yes, if you have climate control it does have an effect ::)
