Hi!
First of all please forgive me grammar mistakes (I am not a English native).
You should check the relays, to do It, u will have to find it (check the post above), then when you remove it u will see a basic scheme on top of it. It will look something like this:

Because I can not give a link in a post please remove "space" after "http:" to access the photo.
It is very simple peace of electric equipment. (this is different scheme, so numbers on your relay will be different) Between poles 86 and 85 there is an electromagnet, which close loop (87-30 and 87a-30) when a current is applied (of course to poles 85 – 86). This current comes from temp sensor which is located on right side (facing front of the car) of radiator, in X20XEV it switches ON when temperature is higher than 98 C.
So if your fan does not start U should remove relay and apply a 12 V to poles (85 – 86) and then u should hear a click, it is quite loud so u will hear it for sure.
If u did it and it is OK, the next step will be to short cut the relay with your ignition on, which will basically mimic the temperature sensor closing loop, and should start fans. U can do this in two ways.
First u can simply use a peace of wire and connect connectors in which poles 87 and 30 should go (of course with relay out of the socket) (this will start only one fan) and then do the same with connectors 87a – 30, to start second one.
Second way is to remove the temp sensor and short-cut the two wires that goes to it. This should start both fans.
If none of above works it means faulty wiring or dead fan.
