I would take the ground connection to the nearest convenient bolt in the body (or add my own). I have a feeling there's one nearby. Then again, mine's a saloon. ::)

Kevin

Yeah... I couldn't decide which way to go ::)

Might just insulate the ground from the pre-wired plug (needed to cut it off to get to every connection ::)) and ground everything to the body... There's a bolt fairly conveniently located :y

Don't ... EVER .. even think about AC current in the same thought as DC current ...

Site is 240 V ... 6 amp supply allows 240 x 6 = 1440 watts   ( watts = volts x amps)

If you tried to do the same with a 12 volt supply that would be 120 amps !!!!!!

Totally and completely different.

As an example ... your fridge on 12 volts pulls 10 amps ... that is 120 watts ... on mains that same power only pulls 1/2 an amp !!!!

Its not comparing apples and pears .. its trying to compare apples and steaks .. both are edible but completely different !!!

Rather embarrassingly I know that :-[ :-[ :-[ Just having a dumb moment :-[ :-[ :-[

However, my calculations were correct that 15A should be sufficient for the 12S electrics, although if it's not it's only a fuse that'll blow so it won't be a horrendous job to re-wire with a dedicated feed :y

I've often wondered why caravans don't have an alternator built into one of the wheel hubs. Wouldn't have to worry about charging batteries through 30' of wire then. :-/

I suppose you could rig up something with a dynamo, if you could get hold of one man enough :-/ :-/
